Help!

How do you know the difference between Braxton hicks and contractions? I have experienced Braxton hicks most of my 3rd trimester but just now my stomach got tighter than normal and felt like a sharp period cramp, I couldn’t tell the difference.

Time them, see how many you get in a hour. Also drink some water and move around to see if they go away. If they get worse and closer together than go in.

@🪷Faith🪷 I’m going to try this, thank you so much

For me, contractions felt like very intense period cramps and I only felt them in my pelvic area. Braxton hicks felt like tightening and hardening mostly right in my belly, sometimes lower but mostly in my belly. But everyone’s experience and sensations they feel can vary, so I would say time them or if they just aren’t going away and are building in intensity, then you may want to call your doctor.

I can answer this. So a brx hick is when it’s just tight and ur stomach feels like a rock it should not hurt it’s just annoying. If you feel sharp pain in your Vagina that that’s lighting croch. A contraction feels like a period cramp but a little worst. It will be in ur lower back area or may be higher and you will feel pain on the lower part of ur stomach like I said a period cramp feeling.

@akila the passed 2 days it’s been like period cramps but never consistent, I’ve heard contractions can start days before you are actually ready to go into labor though

If it’s not consistent it’s nothing bc to worry. But once they get closer and longer then you should start timing them there is an app called contraction timer it will let you know when you should get to the hospital. But you have to keep up with ur contractions

@akila that was so much help thank you. I have been stressing about it. I’ve seen to many horror stories.
