@Emma I do try follow wake window I just every day is kinda different regardless times she goes down for a nap. I did try to stick to certain times she was having naps but that just stressed me and her out x
I go off cues as well. I use his wake windows as a guide to when I expect him to be tired but if hes really tired sooner I’ll let him nap, or not tired enough I’ll extend it otherwise he just has a really short nap.
I tried too at one point as I wanted a schedule so my life was more predictable but it just doesn’t work unless you’re prepared to let them cry a lot to achieve it
My girl is very routiney I'll wake her at 0630am if still sleeping. First nap is 0845 regardless of when she's woken. I'll wake her at 0930 if still sleeping. Second nap - 1240ish and I'll wake her at 1500 if she's still asleep. Start bedtime at 1800 asleep about 1845. I wake her at 2315 and give her a bottle of expressed milk and change her nappy, she back asleep within 25mins, then sleeps through
I follow her cues but she usually goes down for her naps around similar times so she kind of has her own routine. If she is not tired when I take her upstairs I just let her play for a bit and then reset everything ‘change nappy, turn the white noise on etc’
We use wake windows so each day is different but still predictable depending on wake time. She’ll go 3h in the first wake window, can go up to 4h in the middle of the day but we try to keep bedtime as 7pm. So for example if she wakes at 7 first nap will be at 10am. If she wakes at 12, second nap will start between 3 & 4 depending on what we’re doing and if she’s showing signs of being tired. Regardless bedtime is 7pm
