While trying to conceive have any of you tried a fertility friendly diet?

Is there anything you changed in your diet in the time you tried to conceive to the weeks leading up to test for pregnancy?

I used an aurevedic fertility book and conceived right away with my second one. I changed my diet three months before we tried. It was a lot of seed cycling, A2 milk, whole fruits and veggies. I also started using Thorne prenatal and upped my dha / epa. But I also had a lot of salmon in my diet too. I got the book off the kindle store

@Emily Thanks for the advice!

I drank pineapple juice and avoided hibiscus tea. The biggest help was the ovulation strips, since I did not ovulate on the 14th day like most people.

@Margarita ooh I haven't heard the pineapple juice trick! Thanks!

The Mediterranean diet is another good one to follow to help your body be in the best position to conceive. It’s good to remember, too, that consistent dietary changes really have an impact after 3ish months (rather than just weeks), so it might take time.

@Sophie Thanks Sophie! I've really been trying to eat better. Sweets are my biggest issue. I do enjoy lots of fresh produce for the most part. I'm just really trying to conceive and have a healthy full term pregnancy. Love the advice ❤️

You just need to do something heathy. A specific diet isn’t gonna be healthy if you can’t do it long term. I think if you’ve been trying for a while then stop smoking and drinking could be the best. And then just try to stay fit and exercises stuff like that to just help your body be healthy

@Gabrielle I don't smoke or drink but do struggle with maintaining the perfect diet. There is so much information and conflicting opinions amongst nutritionists I've seen. It's hard to know what's right and what's wrong. Some have suggested not doing anything fermented or anything with nightshades, others have said it doesn't matter. Exercise does seem so important!! Thanks for the advice ❤️

One of the things that helped me relax was a podcast on conception. Trying to conceive is like getting ready for a picnic, your so focused on getting everything ready you stress your self out, but the baby wants to come when you are on that picnic, so stress can be the biggest faucet of it. Are you so pent up trying to make the right decisions or can you have faith your little spirit baby will come when you are at the picnic. It’s similar to sex, make sure you are enjoying each others bodies and not just in it for the baby juice. Good luck!!

@Emily that is all really thoughtful advice. And really good perspective. It does make you stop and pause and maybe try to have a little more faith! Thank you so much 🙏
