Following and I have one more question related to this actually. So my daughter started her daycare in Feb and till October she was in infant class. She just transitioned to toddler class. Whom should I bring gifts for in such instance?
@Kavita ooh that's a bit of a tricky situation, maybe you can bring something in for the whole staff to enjoy instead of just certain individuals.
Ask the director. They might have a policy against it
My child goes to a kids & Co. And I have given gifts in the past for the holidays.
It's usually allowed to bring gifts, I haven't heard of a place yet with no gifts for teachers policy, but it's okay to ask the Director, not weird at all! :)
@Kavita ah yea that is tricky, here are some suggestions, you can do like a box of donuts/coffee or any other permissible foods for the group of teachers. If budget isn't an issue get small presents for all. But if you really had to choose, I would vote for teachers in the new class, considering the infant class will have a new set of kids who will probably get the teachers something too. And the new class is where your LO will spend the most of next year.
Thank you, Zuberia. That's super helpful 😊
We usually bring a box of baked goods from a local bakery for all the adults to enjoy and then gift cards for the main ECEs who care for our kids daily. We've been at three daycares and no one has expressed a concern.
Kids & Co does not have a policy about gifts. I think the presents are greatly appreciated. I have gifted both the centre and individuals.
@Kavita I have a contrary opinion, that you should gift the teachers who your kiddo had a greater relationship with. Those teachers probably had a greater relationship with your kid.
@Kavita up to you. I gave gifts to the infant teachers when my child graduated to toddler, and will bring gifts for the toddler teachers now
@Alice do you choose Starbucks/tim Hortons? Or winners? Or may be prepaid visa ? Sorry, I’m looking for ideas as well :)
I'm looking for ideas as well 😂, last time I did big coffee mugs filled with different kinds of chocolates and a Tims gift card in it. I'm wondering what to do this year.
@Zuberia looks great!!
