What cereal are you guys giving your toddlers?

Except for weetabix as my toddler isn’t interested in that…

Hi, we have whole grain spelt puffs from M&S. Sometimes mix a bit of peanut butter or cinnamon to add flavour. We also do shredded wheat for on the go.

My little boy loves coco pops or chocolate hoops

Weetabix, cheerios, Rice Krispies and shreddies.

Anything, she likes Cheerios and craves (those chocolate pillows) xoxo pops, rice Krispies, basically anything, she hated Weetabix too 🙂 If it's plain I put a bit of golden syrup on the cereal for her 😉

Usually porridge but also shreddies, corn flakes and rice crispies.

Thanks all. I’ve been scaring myself away from any of these suggestions because of the chocolate / sugar content, but I guess our toddlers are much bigger now and can have these 😃

I worry about the sugar content too so we do stick to porridge most days but I don’t see any harm when we’re in a rush or fancy a change.

I only really let her have sugar in morning but even over my protests her dad gives her chocolate all the time when he has her...

Porridge,weetbix, rice crispy’s, cornflakes

Sugar content in cereals is horrendous!! So we avoid with our 2 year old. We do porridge with different fruit mixed in (banana mushed up is easy) or I blend and freeze ice cubes of different fruits that I mix in. This helps to cool it down quickly too! No sugar or golden syrup here - asking for trouble with diet and teeth rot in the future! But like most things kid related - each to their own!!! Ours love wheetabix which is handy or we do yogurt and toast and peanut butter for breakfast too. We don’t have a picky eater luckily (yet anyway!!!)

The ones I shared don’t have sugar on them, that’s why we used them. I’m avoiding sugary cereals for as long as I can.

@Nelia I’ll check these out thank you!

Cheerios, granola, bran flakes, shreddies, all sorts really x

Corn flakes. My little girl loves her “crunchies” (that’s what we call it in our house).

He hates all cereal. But he will eat a tablespoon of rice crispies now and again

Can I jump in and ask, are your little ones eating cereal by theirselves? I give my girl porridge now and again but I spoon feed that to her. I feel like if I let her eat cheerios or something on her own it would just go everywhere!? 🙈 But then I guess that’s the only way they’ll learn! X

@Holly mine don't, but she refuses to feed herself all together with a spoon, anything dry she'll eat with hands... I have the same theory, I have carpets everywhere and milk stinks 😅

@Holly I’m a neat freak and was spoon feeding weetabix and cheerios until about a month ago because the mess 🤣 but then I just gave him the spoon. Took a month of absolute chaos and mess but he’s got it now, doesn’t spill a drop and loves the spoon. Just got to get through it!

Her favourite is Shreddies, cheerios, oats.

Rice crispies and shredded buy his favourite is weetabix

We do porridge for breakfast. That or I make a batch of sheet pancake at the weekend and freeze so it's a quick defrost in the micro with some fruit on top
