@Charlie it is a pain and I just feel for him, he's 2.5years old and I've always suspected something but then he can be fine for a while so it kinda flares up. I don't breast feed him, he has cows milk but I'm just wondering if I should change his milk? Then when I look at the alternatives there are so many so have no idea where to start 🙈 How is your little one doing now?
Oh blimey sorry - hadn’t appreciated his age. I also have a aug 24 baby so thought your post was from that.
It’s my 4 month old that has the allergy/intolerance.
The alternative is for you to get allergy tests done, but in all honesty I think they’re a waste of money - they only establish if a child has an immediate allergy, rather than delayed. I imagine the only way you’ll be able to find out is to cut all dairy completely. Ie milk/butter/chocolate from his diet and see if the episodes stop.
My nephew had a lactose intolerance when he was first weaned. He had oat milk for ages, very happily. They then put him on a milk ladder to build up his tolerance and he’s completely normal now.
@Charlie yea i don't think it's a serious intolerance, that's why I wondered if it was like a build up possibly and then gets flare ups. That's interesting about your nephew, I was thinking of changing his milk to oat milk so I'll do that. Thank you so much for commenting 😊
Oh god! Firstly I’m sorry what a pain. My now 4 month old had a suspected cows milk protein allergy (CMPA) at 3 weeks and I’ve been off dairy since beg September. After advice from a consultant I also gave up soya, as roughly 1/3 of babies who have a cows milk allergy, are also allergic to soya. I’m happy for you to ask me 101 questions but top tip, if he’s breast fed, be militant with giving it up yourself. It takes roughly 3 weeks for dairy to leave his and your system, so sadly you won’t see immediate effects.
