Picky eater

My son is a picky eater. He won’t try anything new and barely eats. I do blame myself for this as when he started the picky eating stage, I gave him food I knew he would eat just to ensure that he was eating something but obviously long-term this has backfired. Has anyone experience the same? How do I get him to try new good. Ive tried the usual but he won’t even let the food sit on his plate. Anyone help/advice would be appreciated

Have you tried offering some new foods as a snack? Always best if it's 'yours' ?

Have youbtried a yucky bowl? Still put all the food you want on his plate. But give him the chance to move anything to the lucky bowl of he does not want it.

Some tips I picked up from the instagram account ‘Feeding picky eaters’ is to serve family meals in a tapas style with food in separate plates in the middle for the family to help themselves. Make sure there are accepted foods in the mix too. This helped us with my girl who would cry as soon as there was food presented to her on a plate. I also use the option of dipping things in ketchup as an incentive for trying new foods as ketchup is one of her accepted foods. Don’t know if that will be of any help but I do recommend the account.

Could have written this myself. No advice as we’re facing the same challenge. Just know you’re not alone and don’t blame yourself xxx
