No. I don’t enjoy teaching every subject and I’m not the best person to do so. I overall loved school so I want my children to experience it too.

When I was in high school I loved being able to ask lots of questions about the subject I was being taught. Different teachers also have different styles of problem solving so you learn different things not even including the subject matter itself. I also met a life long friend at school when I was 7 so I hope my daughter will have similar experiences. If she were to be super excited about art or history I wouldn't have the skill or knowledge to inspire and challenge her in the subject when we were beyond primary level

I don't because I am not great at every subject. I don't feel I would be able to give them a good all round education. I also think it benefits them to be away from me, have some independence and learn to make good decisions on their own.

I homeschool cuz me and my kids are autistic/adhders and so first off the school sucked here for nuerodivigent kids. Like making kindergarteners do snowball hands like wtf bs is that. Also, the bullying was bad. And cuz my kids are autistic they were taken advantage of. Like my son was being extorted for his lunches in the 2nd grade. Also the way they tried to teach my kids- my daughter started to hate reading. A year into homeschooling and now she loves it and reads every night and it has improved immensely! And lastly getting up and taking them to school every day was giving me practically daily meltdowns cuz it was too much to do cuz of an unknown chronic health issue… so like I don’t see us going back unless maybe they want to but they don’t rn so I’ll get to that bridge when I cross it

@Lyss I just read your bio and I just wanted to say you are an awesome person 🫶

I plan to homeschool! I am neurodivergent and disabled so I am home anyways, I also get very invested in any topic I set myself on research wise, so I feel quite capable especially in the early years, as time progresses and my child grows we plan to reassess and consider enrolling him somewhere more structured or just reaching out and hiring independent tutors or teachers especially when I feel I’m out of my depth (:

@Becca aww that is so nice of you to say!! Thank you! I appreciate you!! And I just looked at your profile and hey if you ever wanna talk astrology… hit me up!! I love it!! lol but you can Dm me if you ever want! Have an amazing day!!

The school system is no longer trusted and folks who want to be teachers these days I refuse to have around my children. They lack respect and don’t care to actually teach children. I will be homeschooling till they reach 7th grade then they will be in cyber till they graduate. They will learn some type of fighting skill, cook and clean and take up any extra activity of their choosing for example art, pottery, music etc.

I choose to homeschool from prek - senior because I don't trust schools to care enough about my child's education..

I do not. I personally do not have the patience to teach my kids academics. I commend those who can and am truly grateful for the teachers my children have because lord knows it could not be me…. Distance learning was enough for me

Yes, I will home school for every grade level. I participate in educational groups for learning or independent learning activities. I think about school a lot. It's not for me. I ended up being homeschooled after begging in High School and it was great. It accelerated my education and career. I think about integrating my kids when they're older part time.

No. Education is important to my husband and I and I don’t think my children could get the best education from me. I also loved school and so far my kids do as well.

I do not. Not everyone can be a teacher and I prefer to work. But I’m very curious to see the future homeschooled specimens 🙈 im sure some will be great, but I know some will not lol

@MJ_xo the longer i spend on this app the less i vocally advocate towards homeschooling. The right people will do it without anyone needing to convince them LMFAOOO

@MJ_xo just as some ‘specimens’ will turn out great from school and some will not.

Incog, my money is with the trained professionals. As much as I think the curriculum is garbage.

I'm working so it's not practical for us, but I was also homeschooled as a teen in a very isolated environment and I would like my son to have more common experiences with his peers than I did.

@Parker 又 agree. I think homeschooling can be good for some. But I think there’s people who do it out of irrational fears, like thinking having their kid in school will turn them gay 🙄. And quite frankly, it’s selfish and not in the best interest of their child.

@Brittany agreed. I love the people who do it out of enjoyment (lots of moms exist who were once in early education / education in general professionally!) and practicality reasons! But those who are fear driven are looking at it from the wrong angle I’d say.

Nope. It would be a disservice to my kids.

@Brittany wait people out there think being in school could turn a child gay?!?! Oh my 🥴🥴🥴🥴

😂 no fr, that’s an odd thought to have. I feel like that should be the least of your worries when putting your children in public school.

O ya, I’ve seen it multiple times on this app lol

I plan to until around 16. The local community college offers high school courses so my plan is for her to be done with HS or a GED by 16 and then take some of those more advanced courses like they have biology with a lab and just some things I don't foresee myself being able to do. I'm not opposed to getting help though in the form of tutors, retired teachers etc. I moreso just don't want to do traditional public/private school. In my area you can also get the curriculum from the public school system so I can use it as a base and enrich it to fill in the gaps.

@Brittany those are the ones with the worrisome IQ that have no business teaching lol

I don't. Even when I consider myself knowledgeable on the topics they are meant to learn, teaching a subject to children requires different skills from knowing a subject. My kid enjoys having teachers, plenty of classmates and to belong to a group. Even when I am not completely happy with how mainstream schools operate, we won't homeschool unless we feel forced to. Sometimes I would like to choose something hybrid, where they attend school 3-4 days a week and I would be happy to spend the other 1-2 days reinforcing the knowledge given at school with much more interesting activities or trips. I love spending time with them anyway. 💕

@MJ_xo bingo lol

@Brittany I agree. So many people are homeschooling because they want to keep their child safe; but in reality a lot of it is to keep their child agreeing with everything they say for the rest of their lives. To me, if meeting people with differing beliefs causes you to stray from your own beliefs, then they were never that strong to begin with.

Yeah as a homeschooler mom my homeschooling community scares me… they be talking about how the sun revolves around the earth and how there is a filament and they deny Dinosaurs existed… not all homeschoolers are created equal 😬😂

@Dana 🦅♥️🤍💙 thank you.

I was world schooled....I've been homeschooling for 11 years .......

@Dana 🦅♥️🤍💙 well said. My thoughts exactly.

I’m a public school teacher and believe strongly in diversity in my own children’s education. Yes, there are flaws in the educational system. There are also some pretty amazing teachers who pour their hearts out.

my kid is no where near school age but my partner and i have talked about it and are indifferent. he doesn’t want him in public school because he thinks i could provide a better education for him at home and that the traditional education system isn’t necessary. i think it is necessary and so is the peer socialization everyday and learning from different teachers but on the other hand i graduated from a school that had a 🔫ing and get sick from the thought of him being somewhere i can’t get to him and protect him. ultimately he will probably be home with me for the first few years or his education

i wish i could but it’s so much work i don’t think i could do it.. not everyone has the gift of teaching

I would love to hs part time, but financially I need to work full time. I'm a primary teacher so I have the skill/knowledge etc, but I would want her to experience the social aspects of school and be used to the school environment for secondary as I wouldn't feel comfortable homeschooling beyond primary. The nursery she will go to is incredible and I wouldn't want her to miss the opportunities they can provide. It does feel a little counterintuitive that I'll be sending her to be taught by someone else while I'm teaching other people's children, but it is what it is!

I was homeschooled and aim to homeschool my children too, but my first is nowhere near that age yet. I don’t agree with the shit taught in schools these days, she will actually learn more and other practical life skills outside of school. It’s not for everyone though and that’s fair, you have to make sure you are teaching the right things and have all the resources etc as well
