Baby doesn't seem to like food

Hey mums, My LG has started weaning, our HV said it's normal for them to spit the food out but she's had 5 lots of "food" first broccoli, then carrot (loved the carrot) then broccoli again and again carrot (second time she didn't like the carrot) she's just tried banana today & that got a screw face & spat out. I puree everything. But the broccoli second time she shivered and gagged at the taste. I've taken it as broccoli is a no from her to be honest. But is this amount of disapproval normal? When should I expect her to start wanting/liking food? Just worried I'm going to end up with a fussy eater or that I'm doing something wrong? Any advice would be appreciated, tyia

Just keep offering. It's not really about how much they eat at this point anyway. My 1.5 year old eats us out of house and home and often steals his older brothers rejected dinner, too. But even he'll sometimes reject delicious things like raspberries which he'll gobble a whole punnet of on other days. So sometimes it's just random and doesn't mean they don't like it!

you start with vegetables , 2-3 days same veggie first just a spoon next day 2 spoons ( baby spoons) and so on , introducing one at the time and checking if there is no reaction to food .. also it can be just a new texture that baby dosnt like .. my girl started to eat a bit more after a month ..

I was told it takes them 10 times to get used to a new flavour so just stick with it

Thanks mummas! I've seen loads of mums posting that their babies are loving food & then this little one is rejecting it. I feel much more confident with it now

Food before one is just for fun! So don’t worry at all. My daughter didn’t really eat food until about 9/10 months. She wouldn’t even taste anything for the first couple weeks! And she never ate purées, we had to do BLW the whole way. She’s a great eater now (19mos), she just took her sweet time getting there. All babies are different, just keep offering different tastes and textures, she’ll eat when she’s ready ♥️
