Baby names

So random but I have a name for my unborn child. Anyone else ever think “what if that name doesn’t suit them” as we don’t know what they will look like?😂 or just me

I was set on a name for my daughter then she was born and her names completely different 😂 We didn’t find out gender so don’t know if that had something to do with it x

We're set on our name options for both boy and girl and have had them for a really long time so this is something that worries me too but equally we always talk about our future with the names we've chosen so equally can't imagine our baby being called anything but the names we've picked!

I was absolutely settled on Theodora before my first was born. As soon as she came out, first thing I said was she isn’t a Theodora!! Took a further 3 days to come up with a new name. Our second, we just decided to come up with a few names we liked list and then decided once we saw her. Fair play to the people that stick it out but names are so personal. I feel you need to see them first.

@Dominique that happened with my sister my nephew had a completely different name until the day he was born lol

@Hannah me too I’ve had this name for years

@Hannah yeah definitely I think once they’re born you just have a feeling if they are that name or a completely different name comes to mind

Yep! We kept our daughter’s name a secret from family incase she came out and didn’t look like a Florence. Luckily she did 🤣

10000%!! We’ve kept our top name a secret and have some back ups, I just couldn’t commit without seeing them in person 😂 it’s our first but a few people at work told me their kids are not called their “pregnancy names” at all 😂

My girls dad chose her name around 20 weeks and it stuck. He left me at 30 weeks so I really considered changing it but couldn’t find any others I really liked so I kept it 😅

I had my little boys name chosen until I had my 4D scan and I was like nope he’s not a Finley and now he’s a Jacob 🥰

@Lauren hahaha no way 😅

@Jess honestly if someone else told me that story, I’d be like grow up, you can’t tell from a 4d scan but we just knew it and as soon as he came out, it was like an instant agreement on Jacob 🤍

We picked a name and people were against it… so we kept his name a secret and named him that name anyway 😂 now I couldn’t imagine him being called anything else!

We had a name set for our boy the whole pregnancy and pre pregnancy actually, but when he was born the name just didn’t suit him so we went for the back up option (which wasn’t really an option at all because we were so set on the first name) 🤣

Definitely. I had a few in mind and waited to meet her

We never picked a set name as I think it’s really important to spend some time with them first and see if it actually suits them! We had a couple in mind and named him around 48 hours after he was born once we were really sure xx

We have a favourite name and a few backups just in case. With my son we tried out calling him different names to see what felt right and what suited his personality. Ended up going with our first choice which really suits him but we still look at him sometimes and say he could have been an x y or z.

We were lucky our lil boy looked like the name we had chosen.. Oscar... we didn't have any other names we both loved either
