Hi! I traveled with my girl when she was 3 months old for the first time. My biggest tip is travel light, the less you have the easy it gets, use a carrier to be hands free when needed. Feed her or give her a paci during take of and arriving so the ears don't pop and hurt. Bring toys and any entertainment you use. If possible ask if there's any seats open so you can bring the car seat in the plane I highly suggest it. Besides that just a change of diapers right before boarding and I personally would board last instead of first because then you'll be sitting and waiting just for everyone to board the plane for a long time. Personal preference tho. As a side note: Everyone was really kind and helpful when I traveled with her and most with offer to help

Do you BF? When I traveled with my daughter in her first year I brought a boppy and she lay across my lap and nursed and slept on the boppy almost the entire flight for 3 different trips. Made it pretty easy. Also know that you can gate check for free strollers and car seats

Absolutely agree with all of the above! Paci, bottle or breastfeed during take off and landing. You can ask the attendant to inform you when decent is starting as well, it’s earlier than announced. Also there is usually one larger restroom on the plane which makes diaper changing easier. Flight attendants have directed me to it on every flight, but you can ask as well. If you pump, potentially pump pre-flight in the terminal, on the plane can have some challenges.
