We went recently and they said that one of the things they look out for is partly their baseline heart rate, and then spikes of activity at the 160+ mark, which is when they're moving around I think, so that sounds normal and the same as what our results were! Definitely call them for clarification or reassurance, or even to go back in if you're really uncertain x
@Megan I’m having a boy they checked my urine, didn’t say anything. They also took my blood as I told them I felt dizzy recently and bp stood at 94/48 the other day when swelling began but they took the bloods for my anaemia and told me this will be discussed with a consultant at another appointment that I’ll just have to wait in the post box for. I didn’t know it may vary depending on what you’re having! This is interesting! I have called again today because I’m feeling extremely fatigued like I have pulled an all nighter for the past week and said to just rest. Do you suggest to go to the triage to ask for further review or to the antenatal clinic?
I don’t know what the actual numbers are but I do know heart spikes are very normal and it’s what’s they look for (a shows activity). When I was in labour I was concerned about that and that’s what the midwife told me. Re. The swelling - presumably they checked your BP? And asked about headaches etc? I swelled up like a balloon at about 28 weeks was like it for the rest of the pregnancy. It’s totally fine as long as BP normal and no headaches, eye spots etc (which are signs of pre-eclampsia). I went back down to normal size about a week after giving birth. I’m pregnant with number too and can already see my hands and legs are getting swollen.
Yes the doctor said to me before that when the baby moves their heart rate should spike, exactly like ours does when we do exercise!
That’s a very low BP are you sure of those numbers? Girl I’d get back there if you’re worried honestly. My BP sits about 118/60, I’ve currently got the flu and hospitalised (i was admitted last week for different reasons and caught flu here) and my BP dropped to 101/50 last night with a Racing heartbeat of 153 and they were pretty concerned because I was struggling to get a proper breath and feeling very lightheaded. I would phone Maternity assessment and see what they say. It will never be a waste of time to get checked out, never. My mat assessment always bring you in unless it’s a really non issue and you’re just phoning for advice etc because they’d always always rather see you and check you over than you wait even until the next day. Go get some peace of mind and let us know xx
If you’re at all concerned go back to mat assessment and ask for a more detailed review. Bloods urine etc did they test all this? Also, are you having a girl? My girls heart rate sat at 152bpm but when she moved would spike to around there 160-165. I’m having a boy this time and his heart rate sits 135, jumping to 152-155 when moving. You know your body and your baby best, if you’re not happy (especially with hand and face swelling this could be a pre eclampsia sign.). Did they take your obs? BP heart rate etc?
