My 2.5 yr old just started coughing too. We don’t give anything for coughs but I try to keep his nose clear and put some eucalyptus rub on chest and back. Also make sure to drink lots of water.
I give my baby zarbees baby cough syrup. I also like the moms bliss night time
We use Zarbee’s too was just curious if there was anything else. Has anyone used the night version? Does it help them sleep?
Put a humidifier and crank it up in their room, that seems to help my babies. We've been fighting this bug for like 3+ weeks so far, just lingering cough and lots of boogers. My daughter was coughing so hard that it would make her puke then would just moan and be generally miserable, doc told me to give her a bit of Motrin to help with the croup-y cough. So the zarbees and humidifier helped a lot, but on the really bad nights I added the Motrin to help the poor girl out
Cough medicine really doesn’t work for children under the age of 4 years old. Honey is a natural remedy that helps soothes a sore throat. I give my daughter a teaspoon of that. Use a humidifier at night, & put baby/childrens Vick’s on the bottom of their feet & throw some socks over top.
I was told by my daughter’s pediatrician they’re too young for cough medicine. Their airways are too small and they need the cough to cough up the mucus to clear their airway.
