Home water birth

Hi mamas, Recently found out I’m due with my 2nd baby! I’m due in August. Considering a home water birth this time around since my first pregnancy was in the hospital with a c section—baby was breeched. However, I felt the doctors really pushed for me to have a c section since my 2nd tri because they claimed baby was going to be +10 lbs. haha. He came out 8.1lbs, completely average and normal. Had a very healthy pregnancy, no preeclampsia or diabetes. Looking for any encouragement, advice & mind work for home birth! Thank you🫶🏼🤍

Find an amazing Midwife and doula that you genuinely vibe with ! This makes all the difference. It’s a super relaxing and calming experience being in your own safe space at home. Try doing a hypnobirthing or blissborn class ! You can message me if you have any questions about my experience or you just need words of encouragement ! Good luck mama wishing you a magical pregnancy and delivery ❤️

How long has it been since you had your first?

I’d also recommend finding a great doula and midwife. 🤍 that’ll make all the difference to prepare you. I’ve hired a midwife and doula and am also planning a VBAC at home. I’ve felt very encouraged and haven’t felt “high risk” at all just because I’m a VBAC. I hope that’s encouraging to hear!

I’ve experienced 2 births with a midwife. I didn’t have a doula at the birth but if you can even better, right. I took 6 weeks worth of birthing classes with an experienced doula and I just picked her brain as much as I could! You def want a team that makes you feel supported. I would ask questions of how they care for You during the pregnancy through post labor. What other births are around your delivery date, how available they are, how they deal with different scenarios such as “complications.” My midwife had so many other births around my first time that she didn’t feel as available after delivery than with my second. And it was my first pregnancy so I felt a little disappointed about that to be honest.
