Egyptian Arabic screen time?

Is anyone here Egyptian? And do you know of any (masr dialect) Arabic children’s shows or channels? My partner learned Arabic as a baby and his family speaks it majority of the time, but he almost never uses it with them or at home. I want our child to know their language but unless baby lives with my in-laws for a few years it’s not going to come easily. I have also been trying to learn it and I think I may benefit from children’s television as well XD

I do this sometimes, but maybe try and change the dialect language on netfljx to Arabic instead of English?

@Bhakti that’s a good idea! I am just wary of doing so because every time I play something (ex. Duolingo which uses Modern Standard Arabic) my partner just complains that it’s teaching me incorrectly 😞 I suppose close enough is better than none at all…

Yeah fair enough. I can see what you mean :)

I’m Egyptian! 🙋🏻‍♀️😊 I know of the old school shoes that you can on YouTube like Bakkar and Al Mughamiroon, not sure if there’s anything new but you can also find all the Disney movies dubbed in Egyptian Arabic and the dubbing is immaculate 👌🏼 I grew up watching them on VHS

@Aya thank you so much! The Disney movies are gonna be a game changer 👏

Np! I loooved them as a kid, hope your little one does too! 😊
