You just want to make sure you're giving a variety
Girl it’s HARD lol and you have double trouble. You’re doing great. • i give solids 3x a day. Around 9 am, between 1-2pm, and 6/7pm. I usually give him what I eat. I give oatmeal with fruit, pancakes, homemade chicken nuggets, spaghetti etc. I get recipe inspo from TikTok lol
9am bottle 10am solids; purée, yogurt, hash browns or eggs 12pm bottle 1pm purée and baby snacks (puffs, melts, bars) 4pm bottle 6pm dinner (whatever we eat or purée or chopped up fruit) 7/8pm bottle +water with meals and while he’s playing during the day
I don’t cook with salt or sugar, avoid processed foods, try to eat organic, and add honey separately if I’m going to eat it so I just give my baby some of what I eat. It makes us both healthier and that way I’m only cooking once for the family and I can meal prep for us all for a few days very quickly so all I have to do is heat and clean up for most meals and meal prep about an hour every 2-3 days. Yes, I eat baby oatmeal. It’s high in iron and protein and tastes fine. Some common meals include: -Baby pancakes/waffles made of mashed banana, egg, baby oatmeal, and some fruit. -Parfait yogurt, baby oatmeal, and fruit. -Omelette of baked chicken, spinach, eggs, cottage cheese, bell peppers, and paprika. -veggies and unsalted hummus. -Veggies and unsalted guacamole. -Soup made of quinoa, kale, kidney beans, ground turkey, carrots, corn, stewed tomatoes, and bone broth. -baked lemon-pepper parsley chicken legs in avocado oil with some steamed veggies. -orange chicken and green beans..
-Lots of baked fish in tropical and citrus fruits and steamed veggies. -chickpea, spaghetti squash, and zucchini noodle pasta and and a poultry meat in marinara sauce. When I’m busy or on the go organic baby food pouches. Teething crackers/puffs that he can dip in baby meat and veggie purées. But mostly he’s still on breastmilk.
6 am wake and Breastfeed (BF) 7:30 ish Cheerios or puffs with a fruit or pouch. 8:30 ish BF to nap (1-2 hours. Varies greatly) 11 ish BF or lunch (can re offer the same pouch or fruit from morning if leftovers stored in fridge correctly) Sometimes I just offer him part of my lunch if he has had it before. I’ll BF either before or after the lunch depending on his mood. BF at 2-3 hours until 5:30 when we eat dinner. Again just give him some of mine if he’s had it before. Then BF as needed until bed time. https://www.yummytoddlerfood.com/category/recipes/baby-food/baby-led-weaning-recipes/
(2 bottom teeth only, turned 9 months on the 2nd) She gets 1-3oz of puree (bought not made) until she doesn't want more then a 6 oz bottle (~7oz after formula). She gets puff stars/yogurt bites as well to work on hand-eye and hand to mouth coordination. She eats at 8, 12, 4, 8. She gets as much puree and puffs as she wants then a bottle. She also gets teething crackers. She gets nibbles of whatever we are eating (following the Squishrule), beans, potatoe, carrots, shreddable chicken
Following, lol My baby is 9 months on the 26th.. I'm interested in reading y'all's stories and comparing mine!!
Honestly, whatever you give right now is wonderful! "Food before one is just for fun". You should be able to give them pretty much whatever you eat now besides raw hard veggies and things with high salt and sugar. My little guy has oatmeal or yogurt and fruit for breakfast, cheerios and a puree in the middle of the day, and whatever we eat for dinner. He loves beans and rice, and sautéed onions and peppers, and meat.
