Miscarriage

I am currently sat in hospital waiting for my miscarriage to begin fully. I’ve had some cramping and bleeding however they have said my cervix is still shut. Has anybody had any experience with this? They said I can go home shortly, however I am now petrified and I also don’t know what painkillers to take. Can anyone explain what will happen next when this begins fully

I had something like that and just basic paracetamol should be fine do not take ibuprofen

@Laura did you find it takes long to begin I don’t really want any intervention if possible. I’m so scared for what’s to come

You can take ibuprofen if you have a confirmed miscarriage. So absolutely take it if you’re in pain xx

@Danielle if your cramping and bleeding it’s already started it’s horrible thing to go though I know because I’ve had 8 when you get discharged my advice is rest drink plenty of water , take paracetamol and use a hot water bottle if you ever want to message me your welcome to xx

I had a miscarriage in August. After talking to my Dr and doing some research, well I didn’t get much clarity on how long it can take to let nature take its course. So if you are already having to go to the hospital, you should probably just get a DNC so you can get it over with, without having to remember, and begin the healing process 💕

@Laura thank you so much message you now xx

@Natalie I’ve been told I can’t take ibuprofen 😔

@Natalie ibuprofen slows the process down I was told by epu and the recurrent miscarriage clinic not to take it

@Danielle ok np xx

I started bleeding the Wednesday and then on the Saturday that massively increased then the Sunday the pain was horrific like labour and I passed the baby that day. I had a scan on the Monday and I still had tissue which did pass itself over the next couple days. I think it can just vary for everyone though some people have light bleeding and never pass anything. I took cocodamol for the pain but nothing touched the pain. If you have opportunity of getting help to remove it in the hospital then I’d opt for it x sending you lots of love to get through this awful time xx

@Hayley the help would be after Christmas, but I think I would’ve passed it anyway. Did you pass at Home?

Hey, feel free to message me if you don’t want to share details on here but has the miscarriage happened naturally or have you had medication? I had a missed miscarriage so had to have medical management to start the process I would be more than happy to share my experience if you would like. Sending you much love at this time xx

@Danielle I did yea. Just get yourself prepared get thick maternity pads if the hospital hasn’t given them already and just try rest as much as possible and take it easy. It’s not easy to go through so don’t try and do too much you just don’t know when your body is going to decide to pass the baby and in my experience you don’t want to be out and about when that happens x if you do need to go out I’d take spare trousers and pads etc with you incase xx

@Hayley I’m a nail technician and it’s my busiest time of year. My daughter had surgery last week and my anxiety is just through the roof with this whole thing. So I’m trying to partially work through it, thankfully I work from home otherwise I’m not going out xx
