8months

My bby just turned 8 months and doesn’t seem interested in solids to much. Here n there he would take a spoon of food. I would put things on his plate n just let him explore type. But an actual spoon fed he doesn’t seem interested. Any thoughts/advice

Completely normal at that age. Keep offering a variety of healthy foods. Offer cutlery even if he doesn't use it / plays with it, and eat with him to model how to do it. Eventually, it will take. Babies figure it out naturally on their own. Don't worry about rushing it. It's a process! There's still plenty of time at only 8 months old.

He’s 8 months old… His stomach only recently became capable of digesting food. Are you expecting him to go from no food to full meals? Food at this stage is about exploration. Learning to eat and learning what you can eat. It’s not about actually sustaining oneself on food. That’s why they still require milk. But also… their tummies are still tiny! A little goes a LONG way!

@Melissa thank you

Same position. My sister in law said it’s likely she wants to be in control. We were doing homemade purées but she suggested get some packet purées from aldis. We started with mango, banana, apple, pear one. And omgosh my babe ate the whole packet in 2 days. This is going from spitting out any spoon full. Unsure she ever got anything down before the packet! I thought that solved it. But we just tried strawberry and another fruit and she didn’t like it. We def are gonna get more of that squeeze packet she likes and keep trying flavors! Then if any stick we’ll probably homemake them. We are so thrilled something went down tho! (Our baby is almost 8 months)
