Body dysmorphia

Pre pregnancy I suffered with disordered eating and body dysmorphia, i was tiny but saw myself as being overweight and always could be thinner. Fast forward to now, i’m nearly 9 months pregnant and have gained a good few stone, I look completely different and I don’t recognise myself, I can’t physically look in a mirror and it really gets me down. Can anyone tell me what their experience on weight loss post partum was as I’m really hoping I don’t stay the same weight and can go back to weighing at least similar to what I did before… Some people online have said that the weight they gained during pregnancy just melted off as it was mostly water weight but I’m interested in hearing from real people on if you lost the weight you gained and if so how long it took?

I gained 30kg (4.7 stone) each time I’ve been pregnant🙈😂 before kids I looked very skinny was only 60kg so going from that to 90kg was so scary. Each time by the time baby was 6/7 months I lost most of it. Although my body doesn’t look the same as before kids with my belly pouch (I carry very big too), I definitely look slimmer. I think breastfeeding helped a lot too. My baby girl is 6 months and I am down to 70 kg. I was 94 kg by the end of my last pregnancy. I know it’s hard to look at yourself and not recognise your new body, but please go easy on yourself. You will eventually lose the weight. Don’t we all wish there were no changes to our body whilst growing babies, but it’s not realistic. Your feelings are valid, but growing life is beautiful, try to look at it more positively. I even grew a shoe size so at least you don’t have that😂

I went down below prepregnancy weight within a few weeks. Combination of breastfeeding and anxiety caused nausea & occasionally vomiting, I didn't get morning sickness until my 4th trimester.
