My family was a bit taken aback when I told them first too 😅 I said no kissing as a rule because I feel like if you say some areas, some people take advantage of the situation you’ll have to constantly correct them. For example hands and feet (after a bit) go straight in the mouth so I wouldn’t allow those areas either
You can never be too careful especially during winter with the RSV peak. It’s all personal preference I have said no kisses at all, only holding baby. I don’t care who I offend the safety of my baby is more important to me it is not worth the risk. I don’t understand why so many family members have issues with not kissing babies, even with my first ( summer born ) I remember family members being offended when I asked them to wash their hands before holding my daughter or not to hold baby after a cigarette. Xx
I have told all family no kissing and wash hands before holding baby. I actually find it quite odd that people are so obsessed with kissing someone else’s newborn. Unsure if it’s a generational thing but I’ve personally never met a baby and felt the need to kiss it. At all.
@Alex this totally. I wouldn't even think to kiss someone else's baby!
@Loren I find it so odd 😂 glad it isn’t just me! It’s madness how funny people get about it
I would say the back of head. Kissing hands baby’s hands could go in mouth. Top of head the same. It’s just not worth the risk xx
