Fighting for physical custody

My daughter has been living w me this whole time and her dad comes to visit pretty frequently. I found out he is trying to fight for 50/50 physical custody, and that he has been doing drugs (coke, mali) when he is not with her and that he cheated on me. I have documented text messages of him talking about him doing drugs but it is always when he is not watching baby. Will this evidence help my case?
