Feeling guilty..

I got some Christmas money and for once actually spent it on myself to buy new clothes (I’m still wearing the same ones from pregnancy that I brought!) which are like oversized tops and leggings etc. I feel so guilty for spending on myself now, even if it’s just £10! I just think of what I could get for my little girl, even though her wardrobe is bursting at the seams, has sooo many toys etc. Does anyone else? As soon as I checked out and bought the clothes I was so tempted to get it refunded! I think my New Year’s resolution may be to prioritise myself a bit more as I’ve lost myself so much since becoming a mum☹️

I’m the same! I don’t have much money as it is but I treated myself today with money I got for Xmas and I felt so guilty I didn’t get my son something but he had so much at the moment anything else won’t get much use! Xxx

We have to treat ourselves too!!

@Leah I’m so glad it’s not just me! Glad you could treat yourself though, we make sure we treat our children and they have everything they need we often neglect ourselves..I’ve not done my makeup in about a year and haven’t brought new clothes since I was pregnant! X

I bought nice shower and self care stuff which is technically basic needs but felt like treating myself which shows how little we do for ourselves! Xx I got a pair of tracksuit bottoms and feel like a new woman 🤣 mums really aren’t hard to please are we 🤣💕

I don't feel this way at all 😅😂

@Leah hahaha I asked for the same for Christmas, bath stuff, some books, chocolate and new pjs! Plus the money to get myself some new bits! We are very much easily pleased women🤣xx

@Caroline I’m so glad you don’t feel it! Maybe in time I’ll get there but I feel so bad even buying myself a coffee sometimes!🤣🤦‍♀️xx

I’m the same, literally go to buy myself something and then end up putting it back and getting my son something instead! Xx

Yes I can relate but it gets a bit easier the more you do something for you and especially if you go back to work. I only got essential replacements and also still wear a lot of maternity things super baggy 😅 but I got myself a "new" super cheap 2nd hand dress for each of my sons birthday, my friends wedding and 2 for Christmas just really cheap but nice to not look homeless for some occasions 😅 Of course my son had plenty of outfits for his birthday and Christmas which were new new!

I absolutely don't feel guilty! I buy myself when I like as all 3 kids certainly don't go without... even treated myself (and partner) to a holiday to Poland next week without the kids.... I don't feel guilty about that although I knowi ll miss the older 2 and baby girl fae too much. We all need to treat ourselves

Buying clothes isn't a treat, it's essential you have stuff that fits, is comfy and is practical for your new lifestyle! Don't feel guilty. Your daughter sounds like she has everything she needs, you should be proud of providing for her 🙂
