Body comments

I need to vent. So, while I was at work last week, minding my own business, a colleague decides to comment on my body. She goes, “Wow, you’re already showing? Are you sure it’s not twins?” I laughed it off because, honestly, what do you even say to that? But it didn’t stop there. She went on to “educate” me about how some women “gain too much too fast” and should “watch what they eat” during pregnancy. EXCUSE ME?! For the record, I’ve gained 3kg so far, my midwife says I’m fine, and I’m just here trying to survive on crackers and ginger ale most days. Why do people feel entitled to comment on pregnant bodies like we’re public property? Is it just me, or do some people forget that unsolicited opinions are NOT welcome? Has anyone else dealt with this nonsense? How do you handle it without losing your cool?

Feel free to give them some body advice next time you see them eating something unhealthy at work 😂😂 Honestly some people are clueless. Don’t take it personally. Keep doing you 🩵

My father in law said I’d got a double chin! He said it was a ‘compliment’ as it’s a ‘healthy sign of pregnancy’. Really annoyed me! And I don’t have a double chin! It’s so strange how people think they can comment!?

Just say “you look like you’ve gained too much weight too fast too! You know you should be really careful about what you eat when you’re not pregnant as it just goes straight to your hips, you don’t have a baby to nourish so just have enough for yourself”
