Is there any vets in here?

Just after some advice before I call my vets tomorrow. I have a stray mum cat who was speyed last Wednesday. She went back in Thursday as she was recoiled in pain (Spey turned into an abortion 😭) she had antibiotics, antisickness and opiates injection. Shes had metacam over the weekend (2.5kg dose) she is struggling to walk, the vet ruled out anything physically wrong and said pain. Should I take her back? She is 2 apparently. She has two kitten (4months ISH) I've also rescued. I thought she was maybe 10 months old. She has had back to back litters and only weighs 2.4kgs 😭. He own kittens weigh more then her. I've been feeding them for 11 weeks now since the kittens were tiny dots.

Should she still be in pain day 6. Like she is barely moving. She can't get in and out of the litter tray with hood so is toileting behind it on the carpet x

I’m not a vet my love but I worked in a vet surgery for 3 years. Were you given metacam to take home? I would absoutley say if you weren’t given any metacam to give her at home to take her back to the vets as she could have an infection from the op. My inbox is open xxx

She shouldn’t be in pain at all after 6 days xx

She had metacam on Thursday morning then vets have opiate injection 6pm they gave me opiates for Friday and she had metacam sat sun and Monday. My 5 month old kitten was running around by day 2. She was only early pregnant (2 weeks) they decided to abort due to how small she is. I cried when I saw her paperwork saying she's 2 😭. I have her and two kittens in my toddlers room until they're all speyed and neutered. It breaks my heart. She's growling at me when I go near her as she knows I'm going to move her to feed her. Not sure if inbox will let me send a video or just pics x

I honestly feel like she should have had metacam for a little while longer. They say female cats bounce back from being neutered but it’s like us- we all react differently. When my little one was neutered we were given metacam for 7 days for her. Does she have stitches? I’m wondering if they may be infected hence why she isn’t walking right- can you get near enough to her to feel where the stitches are? If they are hot or more warm than her actual skin (where she’s been shaved) I would lean more towards an infection. Cats are so good at hiding pain so the fact she’s growling at you is indicating something isn’t right. Is she eating ok atm? Oh bless her heart she is tiny! That’s also probably because of the back to back litters. Thank you for taking her in though! Not many people will do that! Like I said please feel free to message me xx

Hi I’m a vet . If she is showing such signs of pain at this stage post op then I would take her back into your vets to be checked over. Lots of possible causes and may just need further pain relief but it is uncommon for them to be barely moving at day 6

@Ciara I wish peanut would allow videos to be sent as it's heartbreaking. At first I thought It was fear as she is feral/stray and locked in a room in my house. But as time goes on I'm having to move my daughter's wardrobe to get her out just to eat 😭. I will be calling vets first thing. She's growling and hissing when I go near her as well which she hasn't until being speyed and being in pain. Her stitches look good wound site is clean and not hot to touch. Her temp was higher side of normal 24 Hours after Spey so got given antibiotic injection and antiemetic and opiates. Another dose of opiates under her tongue Friday morning and metacam sat sun and yesterday and still very stiff. On Thursday she was recoiled like she was paralysed but they tested her reflexes and said it's not paralyse it's pain and possible infection. It's breaking my heart. She's not even mine and she is reducing me to tears everytime I leave the room. She has her two kitten in with her. She's allowing the boy near her but not the girl

I hope you get her seen and sorted soon. It’s a good sign she is eating - if she is feral it’s not impossible for it to be a fear response She may be acting differently due to the significant stress of a vet visit , operation and being restricted to one room However still sensible to rule out anything more serious with a trip to the vets

She was inside for a week before being booked in and was doing well and coming to me purring now she's not sure. She purra if I fuss her head. Soon as I go below her shoulder blades she's not happy. Could it be to do with the wormer? She had nexguard combo on 24hpurs post op. X

@Ciara hey, she went back yesterday had a 2 week injection of anti optics, opiate and a week's worth of metacam to give. I've checked on her today and she has an opening next to the wound and leaking. It seems the antibiotics have pushed the infection out. She's screaming In pain. Will be taking her back tomorrow to the vets. I have three kids in bed or I'd go tonight x
