I was diagnosed with GD at 11 weeks turned insulin dependent at 13 weeks... my fasting levels weren't good in the morning even when I'd have a snack at night ... it wasn't that bad, but I has also over came my fear of needles because my baby was an ivf baby so I had to give myself a lot of injections to get and stay pregnant.

If you're not eating any carbs at all you need to start eating a few (none can cause ketosis which isn't good for you or the baby in a similar way to how high blood sugar isn't) so he's probably anticipating your blood sugars needing extra help once you start eating small amounts of carbs. Taking insulin by injection is honestly fine. I did it for 4 months in very high doses and it had no long term effects on me or my baby - he's a happy, healthy 11 month old now.

Thank you for the advice guys update I’ve started taking the insulin it was because my sugar levels were to high when I woke up so that’s why thanks for the advice on key tones holly I appreciate it and thank Tanya you both put my mind at ease about baby 🥰

@Asharrah the beginning of my pregnancy they were worried I'd have a big baby because of GD altho I had a lot of complications not related to GD .. and my little guy was born premature at 36 weeks (3 days) he was the size of a 32 weeker tiny but completely healthy.. hope you have an uneventful pregnancy and baby is healthy.

Yeah they thought she big and now they think she’s small I just think she’s perfect I’ll know probably at 36 weeks scan I really want a water birth so I’m hoping they allow me to wish me luck 🤗
