To my understanding they will just have to give you antibiotics a bit before giving birth. Usually PCN I believe

i also tested positive and my ob told me that there’s no cause for concern, they just give you antibiotics via IV during labor/before delivery

thank you ladies. i get induced thursday, so was a little nervous

There is no problem with group B strep. They gave me IV antibiotics before I gave birth and my baby is normal and healthy.

Same as everyone said with antibiotics, but if your water breaks they want you to go in to L&D within an hour. They gave me 12 hours monitored after waters broke before inducing me when labor didn't start on its own. Just a higher risk of infection

They will just put you on iv antibiotics prior to delivery - I recommend looking into a good probiotic for yourself after giving birth because the antibiotics can kill off all your good gut bacteria too. At least it did for me 😅 Also if you have any complications like premature rupture of membranes or your labor stalls, you may be encouraged to have a C-section if labor does not proceed within 24hr, just to minimize risk of infection.
