Inconclusive scan - Help 🙈

have recently gone to window in the womb for an early scan. I believe that I was 7 weeks pregnancy according to the Flo app however when they completed an internal ultrasound they said that I was no more than 6 weeks as they could see the yolk sac etc by no embryo present . They could see what looked like something tiny growing however they could not be sure. They advised me it was an inconclusive scan and to rescan in 2 weeks. I ovulated on the 22nd day of my cycle, would this affect how many weeks pregnant I am? I’m super worried as they said that the pregnancy might not be progression, any thoughts would be extremely welcomed 😔 I haven’t had any bleeding etc.

It's really normal to be off with your dates by a few weeks so try not to worry! I know it's harder said than done but that's why it's best to wait a bit longer for an early scan because they can cause more anxiety. Go back in a couple of weeks and see if anything has grown. Good luck!

I have been told on my forst scan that i was 13 weeks pregnant. For me it was impossible and i would let you imagine my husband face when he realized the conception date they give me he was back home to america !!! However at 32 weeks pregnant i have been told my baby is few weeks behind on the growing chart and guess what ? I gave birth 3 weeks early ! Around the due date i was expecting from day one . Xx

Do you know for sure which day you ovulated ? If so, count from this date and add 2 weeks on. Then you know exactly how far along you are x

I had the same with window to the womb went back a week later and I baby had a heart beat etc ! The second sonographer told me my period dates must be wrong I said I can reassure you they aren’t and he said ovulation and implantation could’ve happened later than we thought

Count the weeks from the day you ovulated and then add 2 weeks on, that’s how many you are xx

Thank you everyone! That’s made me feel a lot better and would make sense why it’s still tiny 🥰

I have had exactly the same today! I thought I was 6 weeks. I had some pain so went into epu and they said they could see yolk sac but not heart beat. They have arranged another scan for 2 weeks! Now I’m panicking

@Katie I really wish we didn’t do it. They weren’t very nice or helpful plus they aren’t doctors. I keep thinking that if we didn’t have the scan we’d be none the wiser and we’d still be happy not anxious. We will get through this! 💪🏼

Same here for me. If you ovulated on the 22nd day of your cycle, count back 2 weeks from that day and count the pregnancy from then. I ovulated on the 17th of march (day 21), my last period was 25th of February. The Flo app and nhs would count my pregnancy from the 25th of February, however they are expecting ovulation on day 14, not day 21. So count back 14 days before ovulation so get the true gestational age. So for me my pregnancy should be counted from the 3rd of march, not the 25th of February when my actual period was. Hope that makes sense! I also had a window to the womb scan which dated me exactly where I expected (counting from 14 days before ovulation).

@Chloe hey! Did you count back from when your ovulation started or the peak of it?

I had my first Early scan 2 weeks ago as they could see yolk sac and a diamond shape. Went back today and there was a heart beat and baby! Measuring about a week behind but I was told 2 weeks here or there is normal x

Hey everyone! I’ve got my second scan tomorrow, do you think I’ll likely be able to see anything? It will be 7 weeks and 4 days according to my “new” dates 🤞🏼

@Tash yep at 7w4 you’ll see baby and heartbeat

Thank you for all your lovely messages and advice! Went back today for another scan and we saw baby with a strong heart beat ☺️

@Tash so thrilled for you. Congratulations!!
