i had it for years and thought it was amazing, contraception for 10 years without additional hormones is great in my eyes, i got it removed after 4/5 years and have a baby now. i didn’t find the procedure that bad, it wasn’t nice of course but it wouldn’t impact my decision to do it again x
They have an arm implant too
@Vanessa which iud did you switch to?
I've got the hormone one. I've been on my period for a month now. Not a propper period. Just blood when I wipe pretty much. I did have it before I got pregnant and was fine with it that's why I've had it back in but so far it's been a pain x
@Selena I had that when I was in college and hated it 😭
@Zara if you hated it don’t do it again lol, it’s about what you want not the doctors. Research different options. I got the arm implant and haven’t had my period since I got it. Only thing I’d be cautious of is mood swings.
@Blayze oh no I’m saying I had the arm implant before. The IUD is new for me lol. My doctor recommended the copper one because I had mood swings on the pills and implant and she said the copper IUD is less likely to cause mood swings
Ahhh ok gotcha! Ask your family members about the IUD, I personally chose not to get that because of how the women in my family’s health was impacted
From what I’ve found the copper IUD gave horrible periods & mine were already unbearable so I went with the other IUD & my first period was better than before pregnancy
