Congratulations lovely! 🥰 after a failed round of ivf last year this happened to me too and I’m now 20 weeks 🥹 I had a second egg retrieval in November and was waiting to do a frozen embryo transfer and I actually found out I was pregnant when I went for a scan at the clinic as I’d taken provera to bring on a period and still hadn’t had a bleed, so that was a massive surprise, but the best one 🤣 I told my mum literally the day after as I see her every day and I couldn’t keep it from her but I also trusted her not to tell everyone. Everyone else that knew we were waiting to start we just told we were still waiting for my period to arrive 😂 I just kept saying things like oh I need to call the clinic to find out when I can get going or what they can do, and then once we actually told everyone no one minded that we’d told little white lies as they understood the reasons why 😂 Hope everything goes well for you! Feel free to message me 🥰
Congrats! That happened to me too! Do what you feel is right, I personally told my mum straightaway and then waited a little longer to tell others.
♥️
Thank you everyone for your lovely comments really appreciate the advice 💖
I had exactly the same thing was due to start and then suddenly pregnant after 3 years of trying. I told my immediate family and best friend mainly because everyone was asking about the IVF a lot. It’s up to you. You could just be vague 😂 but honestly what will be will be and telling close family and friends means you get support regardless. I knew I’d prefer them to know so that if it didn’t work out I had their support too. Also Congratulations!!! 🎉🥳🎉🥳 so strange how often it happens when you are about to start IVF. I was told by midwife it is surprising common!
That's amazing congratulations, this happened to our friends too. They had done 2 rounds of IVF and were literally waiting for the start date for the next when she found out she was pregnant. Her son will be two in October and there's only 5 months between our boys 🥰 If you're not ready to tell anyone just say it's been delayed for now. You don't need to give more than that explanation really.
