@Reena I'm trying to conceive. I tried to breastfeed for 12 weeks but she wouldn't latch on. I'm more wondering why no period but also then therefore how to know when to to test for ovulation. Seems to be showing positive for ovulation more than I would of thought so hard to conceive if I don't know my cycle or when I'm ovulating
Your hormones haven't returned to normal basically and that is common especially when women have breastfed. Ovulation tests aren't very accurate and it's possible you are ovulating but it's not maturing etc. you need to have certain phases and hormonal surges etc to ovulate and for the egg to mature. You can get pregnant before return of periods but it's not as common as people think.
Thank you @Reena
The average return of periods is 15 months for breastfeeding women. Are you wanting to get pregnant or are you just wondering why you haven't had a period. Breastfeeding hormones naturally suppress the hormones you need for periods ovulation etc.
