I’ve been put on it too, mine is due to risk of pre-eclampsia which I wasn’t sure about so I researched it. Taking the aspirin helps prevent any risk of blood clots and complications later in pregnancy. I think it’s beneficial for me from reading into it, but your reasons for being put on it are different so I am not too sure! Definitely have a research into it and speak to your midwife 😊
I had low Papp a in my first pregnancy and was never told to take aspirin. I think it’s a personal choice between each hospital trusts and not exactly necessary. I mentioned it to my midwife if I needed to take it due to low Papp a and she said no
I was told this for last pregnancy and this pregnancy but aspirin doesn’t really agree with my body so I haven’t been able to take it. Thank God my last baby was absolutely fine and was measuring great … praying the same for this pregnancy 🙏🏾 x
I’ve been advised by my midwife to take aspirin as I had really high blood pressure towards the end of my first pregnancy and had to be induced because of risk of preclampsia. So I’m happy to take it all the way through as it’s what a medical professional has advised. If you’re unsure and uncomfortable you can ring your midwife and ask about it and explain your reasons, it’s your pregnancy and your body so you can do as you wish xx
Ask your midwife why they have suggested you to take it. (What is low PAPP-A how does it affect baby and how does aspirin work to correct it) sometimes medical professionals assume that we know everything. I’m on aspirin and fragmin injections due to clotting issues aspirin helps to thin the blood. I know they put people on aspirin if there are risk of pre eclampsia I hate taking aspirin when mixed with water 🤢 but I found 75mg tablets I can swallow instead in savers for 85p a packet that last a month so just take that instead x
