Maternity leave

Hi I'm currently 24 weeks I need to work till 30th of July until I can go for my maternity leave but I'm straggling with my health and feel fed up with my work as i work as a cleaner in busy factory and wanted to ask if I go on sick leave will I still get my maternity pay later ? Thanks

My understanding is that if you go off sick 10 weeks before the baby is due or less and it is ultimately baby related, they will force you take maternity leave. However if you’re unwell or it’s before 10 weeks then they can’t x

@Sarah yes I know that but it's not baby related I just feel exhausted working there now it's too much I work for horrible people and I'm not planning to go back after maternity leave anyway. And just thinking if I would take sick leave now for stress if I they would have to pay me maternity leave or would I get less pay ?

@Sarah it can change from employer, mine is any sickness from 36 weeks starts off the maternity

Check your work policy , I haven’t come across any employer that starts it from week 30 . Most are are 36 weeks

@Ali I don't get paid sick for anything just ssp from gov it's like 100£ per week. And I can leave for maternity 11 weeks before due date so it's 30 July
