Does anyone know when you get your mat pay confirmed?

Will this conversation start when I give my MATB1 form in? Or should I get the ball rolling with HR? I have confirmed with HR the start of my mat leave but unsure how to approach the pay topic.

Ask payroll or HR?

Your mat pay leaves when your leave starts. I had a weeks holiday to take then mat pay kicks in. It shouldn't need to be a conversation about it If you have worked there for the time stated on gov website and you are perm member of staff They should just workit out themselves.

1st baby I didn’t get it confirmed until the week it started

We don't get given estimates until we have our matb1 to hand in. Even then it's just estimates they give us, and the pay is hopefully something similar haha x

@Taylor are you talking about if a company have their own mat leave pay structure? If a company doesn't have their own uplifted pay, mat pay is either £184 a week or 90% of your usual pay depending on which is lower.

I’d wait until you get your mat b1 form then send that to hr to start getting things in place x

If you are talking about Occupational Mat pay (rather than statutory which comes from the gov) your company will probably have a maternity policy which lays out what percentage of your normal salary gets paid throughout mat leave. I had payroll send me some estimates of what pay to expect but that was fairly close to my mat leave starting. Technically I could have done the math myself.

They forgot about me so took a few extra months after giving it in so I had to go to the office so I would just go straight to whoever it is who sorts it c

@Rachel yeah, we get a calculation including stat mat pay and occupational mat pay. But we cannot request our calculation until we have handed in our matb1 x

@Taylor oh I didn't get anything like that Just handed my matb1 form in and told them my leave date 😅my pay started when I left as per amounts on gov website

@Taylor this is what I was expecting! I’m 20 weeks, so will get my MATB1 at the beginning of August! X

I handed in my maternity leave request form along with my mat b1 form on Friday and received my confirmation on Monday :-)
