Delivery question!

When you had your first baby, when did you give birth? Was it full term, closed to due date, or early/late? We had our wedding planned for the 26th October, but now it turns out I'll be 37 weeks on the day of the wedding, and we're getting a bit worried about baby deciding to turn up 😂 the due date is 3 weeks after that, but in theory, that's full term, so what are your guy's experiences with delivery times and that? Should we move the wedding? Everything is already booked and paid for, so it'll be a hussle but something we'd be obviously willing to do if needed. Please let me know!

I ended up being included at 37+5, I was told I'd be there for days and the process would take a while. Baby girl came the next day! X

There’s no way to say, some people go early, some go late there’s no rhythm or reason to it. I guess it depends how big of a wedding you’ll be having, how you’re going to be feeling etc x

I’d definitely be moving that wedding! It’s very tough being 37 weeks pregnant, it’s exhausting, you probably won’t feel great and baby could come at any point, you could have to be induced you just never know so I’d say it’s very risky!! X

I went into spontaneous labour at 37 weeks with my first, though I think that's less common with first pregnancies but definitely possible.

My son was born on 26th October 😅 He was over 2 weeks late, induced for 3 days (traumatic) I developed SPD in 3rd trimester so struggled to be active and it was very hard work. If it was possible to have the wedding a little earlier I think it would put your mind at ease and may be sensible as you never know what may/may not happen 🙃 If you're prepared everything will go smoothly, but almost guaranteed something will disrupt your plans if you're not prepared! Is the wedding close to the hospital?! 😋

Had my first at 41+6 😂

38+5 for me, but I got admitted the week before with high blood pressure and was really struggling with SPD at that point.

We'll be signing the papers and then having lunch/dinner with the family. We were never really party people, so the wedding was not planned to be anything big anyway. No dances until midnight or anything (which I'm really glad about now! 😂) The hospital is about 35 mins from the venue, so it's not close but not too far away either? We're in Cornwall, so nothing is really close here 😂 We've started talking about contingency plans amongst ourselves and with family as well, just in case to be prepared 😂 but I think I'll try and move the wedding up a bit if possible xx

I was induced at 37 weeks as I had preeclampsia. I was induced at 8am, she was born at 4pm so it was all very quick 😅 I would personally move the wedding if you can as it’s pretty uncomfortable at 37 weeks 🤣 xx

41+4 🥲

I would change the date if it was me. First and second baby, my waters broke 3 weeks early 😊

I was induced at 40+6 as I had late onset hypertension in pregnancy which made me really poorly. She came at 41+1! I’ve told my midwife I’m not going over 40 weeks this time as that’s when everything went wrong last time x

40 weeks x
