Universal credit

Hey all I get UC with the child element, and am living with my Mum. Do I have to tell the jobcentre that baby's Dad sends him £60 a week? I saw a post about claim reviews, and haven't been contacted yet. What will they respond if they see regular payments from my ex? Is it fraud?? TIA

I believe they don't count it, my sons dad hasn't given him money in months tho but I'm pretty sure it's not a problem if your honest

Set up a bank account in your baby’s name and have the Dad send the money there. It can’t affect you if it’s not being sent to you

It won't affect your claim but I was told you need to inform them

It's always best to inform them I believe - my mom is a UC case manager. I can ask her for you if you would like?

I would just mention it through your journal but I highly doubt it will affect your claim. If it does, it’ll only be by around £30.

Just to let you know you do need to regularly log in to your journal. If you miss a message or a commitment you could be sanctioned. They don't always notify you by email that you've got a message
