Constant blowouts in Huggies

?????? Leak protection my ass. Anyone have suggestions ? Literally even small poops leak inmediatly out the leg holes or up the back. We even sized up but honestly the size of the pad is no larger than a lady’s maxi pad so I don’t get it. Obviously it’s going to leak.

Do you pull out the sides of the leg and fold the upper part of the diaper front and back ? Don’t know if you understood that I may have to draw a pic lol

Agree with Salam’s suggestion, we always put the ruffles out and have had only 1 or 2 leaks ever in Huggies! But different diapers fit different bodies better, might be worth trying another brand like Pampers or Rascals + Friends

My son has been in Huggies for 11 months and has never leaked 👀

I had the same issue and had to switch to pampers

I like rascal and friends from Walmart

Honestly, I found that every baby is different and has different diapers that fit better to them. We found pampers to be too boxy, and rascal and friends always blew out the legs. Huggies for us blew out the top sometimes when she was in an in-between sizes. I think you should just try a few different diaper brands and see the ones that fit best on your baby. Everyone will have varrying opinions.

Pull out the leg parts and maybe go up a size. I always get the little movers with the purple tab on the sides to help

Agree with Alycen.. we switched to Rascals and Friends. They're slightly bigger in the crotch so it can hold more. They're also cheaper! Didn't think about trying these until we were gifted them. Wish we knew about them with my first born. Also don't need to get overnight ones anymore either!

Huggies are the worst !! Pampers are honestly the best

Pampers don’t absorb anything

@Saraising these !!! Just sized up to size 4 and they blow allllllll the time.

Thanks all. Yes I fluff out the legs and make sure the back flap it up and that the waist is secure. My baby is big. I didn’t like the net mesh of pampers so only used them for one box worth when she was tiny but maybe they’re better suited. Rascal and friends I don’t know!!! But Huggies definitely ain’t it right now

Hmm that’s so strange!! Those are the only ones that don’t blow out for my boy !! Try rascal (they’re just called rascal now not rascal and friends; they rebranded) I’ve heard good things and I only tried them a few times

When my LO was around 6-7mo and he had some food in his diet, but was mostly drinking breast milk, he was blowing out daily. It was the absolute worst. We started using pampers instead of huggies, which helped a bit, but the biggest improvement came when his bms started getting more solid... Having a wet bag for the soiled clothes, and a spare change of clothes (or two) was how I got through it 😵‍💫 Best of luck to you!

Rascal and Friends from Walmart 100%. Huggies are terrible for leaking. I’ve put all my kids in rascal and friends since I discovered them and they’re awesome!

Never encountered this issue with Huggies. Usually blow outs from back side happens when baby grows out of the diaper size.

My Daughter never has issues and has been in Huggies since day 1. And she’s 2.5 (starting the potty training) Pull out the sides Is it the right size?

I'm a mom Of 7 ok , not saying anything bad about others experience but I only use pampers or huggies I've had blowouts with all my kids with different brands luvs , parent choice ect with all diapers

@Dominique you are right it happens with every diaper. My son only used pampers and my daughter can only use Huggies

lol. Pampers swaddlers rarely ever leaked for us as long as frills were out. I’d say switch. I think diff brands fit diff shaped kids.

Right the only time I change diapers is if I realize they aren't allergic to the cheaper brands . But most my kids are and my newborn who is 2 weeks old is allergic to pampers so I am trying huggies see what happens

There's different huggies one brand has a blow out pocket at back. I use them and never have issues

Kirkland's have it too

@Akasha can you tell me which one? I bought the little snugglers actually. Either the purple tabs. Awful. Worst ones yet

@Dominique wow mom of 7 ! That’s amazing. Well I’m down to try other ones but I know Huggies and pampers have different models too. These ones, the little snugglers size 4, they blow out EVERY TIME almost

Daughter used those and still does (if I can’t find the slip on ones and never had a blow out. I hope you find some that work :)

I use huggies and Kirkland. Never had an issue with either of my boys. Kirkland is knock off huggies though so if you don't like huggies you probably won't like Kirkland either

🥸 incognito. I used them I think they do have back gusset I honestly forget name maybe snug and dry? You have to put fingers along gusset to release it and make a pocket. You may also have to go up a size. Mom to 9 kiddos and seriously you just have to trial and error for each one to see what works best for that baby as they are all different. One I used all cloth diapers cause nothing else worked

Same thing happened with our daughter who’s always been 98 percentile for height & weight. They’re awful for bigger or taller babies. Pampers were the only thing that has worked for us

I did rascal friends they were really good

We recently switched from huggies snugglers to huggies movers and the blowouts have (on average) decreased. Not to say they don't happen still lol we learned the hard way ALWAYS have a backup outfit (even socks!!) and a big zip lock bag for poopy clothes lol

Thanks everyone. I got a pack of pampers Swaddlers with blow out flap. Pray for us lol. I tried these when she was small and wasn’t a fan of the mesh like barrier as I thought it would be uncomfortable for her but maybe I’m wrong. It was my perception. She didn’t mind

I would have used pampers unfortunately my daughter has a sensitive tushy lol.

Might be time to go up a size! Whenever this happens I go up a size and no issues. We love Huggies!

I've heard good things about Rascal and friends, but I've never used them myself. We use huggies because they work for our family. I HATE pampers because of the velcro! They don't stick! But if you flare out the legs after it's put on and you can try to flare out the leak guard at the back maybe? If it's at night you could try overnight diapers as well
