hi! im not a fan of birth control, and we’ve successfully avoided pregnancy for over a year and half just by cycle tracking/pull out method. i haven’t tried taking my temp yet but i’ve considered it. obviously it’s a risky method but i’ve been able to recognize my body’s cycles a lot better. we just avoid sex during peak ovulation days
@Izzie we had the same luck for about 6 months. We only failed when he didn't pull out and knew it was a bad time of the month for it
First pregnancy we had luck for 5 months. After 2nd daughter we had luck for 22 months. I just can't take the risk again. I am so tired. I work full time from home. Full time mom full time wife...hahaha. There is no village for us. It's certainly hard. My eldest has level 2 autism. Just need a break from not getting preggers again but hate everything that's on the market. I have heard of not doing it when ovulating but that's literally when I want it the most! Hahaha.
@Jen first off, how do you do it? I’m 8months pp with my first, wife, and run our business from home and I feel like I’m failing or behind. Constantly forgetting things and so fricken tired. Husband and I are considering a second because I want baby boy to have a sibling but I don’t want to over do it. I also don’t want them to have a huge age gap either. So any advice on how your doing it all would be greatly appreciated 🤍 P.S I’m considering the aura ring until we’re ready or the thermometer check in the am.

I used Mira (did urine tests for all 3 hormones every morning) to avoid sex during ovulation for 3 years. It was super accurate in predicting my period too even though my menstrual cycle could range from 30-60 day (very irregular). The first month I didn’t use it (ran out of tests and got lazy and didn’t buy more), I accidentally got pregnant lol
I use an ultrahuman ring (like a smart watch) and it tracks my temperature and I log my period on it. I do this faithfully, and we just use the pull out method. I also monitor discharge for ovulation.
@taylor are there any big differences between this and the aura ring? What made you choose this one?
@Nicole idk how I do I just get it done hahaha. It's certainly it exhausting and things do fall behind at times. But have to create a routine and write things down or else I will forget. And just keep going.. keep moving everyday. I do have random days where I sau to my hub like I'm going to get my nails or hair done on this day or grab something to eat with a friend but I dnt do it enough! Just remember you have to take care of yourself too!
@Izzie you're lucky pull out still works for you! We practiced that while dating but once marriage hit he no longer wants to! He desperately wants a boy. So I can't trust pull out method any longer unfortunately...ughhh pray for me!
he won’t pull out cause you’re married? good luck to you girl
@Izzie it sounds like he won't pull out because he still wants a boy
@Izzie and @Madison yup to both of you! Ha.... send help.... but I try to not have as much sex. Last year I was taking plan b at least once a month! Then the plan b failed in December and here I am pregnant again!
I agree with Katya on how well Mira works. I had been off of bc 2 years prior cause I wanted to get my body healthy and hormones balanced before getting pregnant and I had a specific month and year I want to go get pregnant/birth. It's crazy accurate cause we were able to track everything to avoid getting pregnant before, and it only took one try the month I planned on conceiving. I also used a few apps to help me keep track of all symptoms which helped as well.

@Bex I may have to try one of the app too. I been off of birth control for maybe 9 years now. I was on the iud but when i got off of it it was because all of the negative things i heard abt it and ro get my body ready for children too, but i officially started a year after getting married and was pregnant 3 months after starting to try. I'm in fear of the side effects that are in these medicines. So I do want to go a more natural route. I have heard the herb Neem helps for birth control.
@Jen I recommend liquorice plant/liquorice root extract as you can take it over long periods of time unlike neem leaf extract. Using neem leaf extract over long periods of time causes kidney and liver issues. However neem leaf extract is great as an emergency contraceptive as it's known to cause miscarriages.
This is great info! Thank you so much for telling me! I'll be doing my research now!
following because i’m having the same issue! i don’t like the fact of putting anything foreign in my body, like the copper IUD which i have been considering. but i’ve heard using basal temp isn’t always so accurate. 🤷🏼♀️🤷🏼♀️
