eczema issue

Our Pediatrician told us that our son has eczema and sensitive skin. They gave us the steroid oil, cream, and ointment. the oil irritated his skin more and the cream helps. The thing is it helps when he uses once we stop his skin is flaring up. I got rid of any polyester and only use hypoallergenic or sensitive products. Any advice?

Could it be food based? We did the same thing, tried different detergents and everything. Turns out he had cmpa so the flare ups just came right back because we were still feeding him things with dairy in it. Once we cut out his food allergies his skin got better and we don’t need to use the creams anymore

My son (8mo) has had eczema since he was 3mo. We tried everything. I had to take him to Spain (where Im from) to be blood tested. He is cow's milk protein intolerant. We are giving him now hydrolized formula and some creams from the brand Isdin (repair creams mostly, and some just in case he has any break ups) . No cows protein in a while to see how he developes. So far his face is clear ( he is theething so he has some spots because that). Get your LO tested! Skin problems comes from the inside mostly

Steroid creams will only help whilst being used. Usually you have a longer regime and then slowly tapper off to avoid tsw. Moisturising is a such a key part of helping the skin. Our paediatrician said to moisturise 6-10 times a day. We do 6, as it’s hard to fit in 10. Cotton/ organic cotton/ bamboo clothing only. H&M is really affordable for organic cotton. No fragrance washing powders, non bio, sensitive, no nasties! I would also look into CMPA and to see if you may have any symptoms of this. The only reason I say is because we didn’t really think my daughter was allergic to milk and mentioned it on a whim and our paediatrician changed our milk to Neocate and it made a HUGE difference to my daughters skin. I would recommend “Erasing Eczema (natural eczema help) group on FB, they have some really good tips!! I believe this is an American group also. They have a starter guide you could use to help you. We also only bath once a week as we found the more often we bathed the…

If its flaring as soon as you stop the steroids, it sounds like he may have topical steroid addiction (which if you carry on for too long, can turn to topical steroid withdrawal). I would 100% stop the steroids and look into food allergies/healing the gut. There is a really good page on Facebook called erasing eczema (natural eczema help) that has lots of natural ways to help them. We're currently using zinc cream from drought.secret on Instagram and also the kids spray/cream from salcura which are slowing helping improve my little girls eczema (as well as being dairy/egg/oat free, and limited soya/coconut)

Worse her skin was. And we only use soap substitutes prescribed by the doctor. We also use something called a protopic, I would enquire with your dr and we add vitamins and probiotics which is supposed to help with gut health/ skin. It’s all linked. Also in America you have TinyHealth which can tell you about your child’s gut health and what they need to take to help. A lot of people have said this has helped massively.
