Holidays 🏖️

Hey! I’m planing a holiday, a bit last minute for next month. I’ll be 30 weeks when we fly out and only planning on going for a week (6 nights maybe) Short flight of 2.5 hours but didn’t realise how nervous I’d be to go on holiday pregnant! Has anyone else been on holiday and flown at a similar gestation? Is there anything I need to be more aware of? Thank you 💕

We’re going to Greece for 10 days (hopefully) in Sept (when i’m 29 weeks). Keep up to date with pregnancy jabs and get a fit to fly (just in case) xx

@Jasmine thank you! I didn’t realise fit to fly was a thing. Do you know where we get these from? I work in a GP practice and have never seen anyone get one from us x

@Bromwyn you could possibly ask your midwife, especially at the 28 week appt would probably be your best bet! It might not be useful as they might not ask for one but I wouldn’t want you to be stuck in a foreign country and them say you’re not able to fly back! Your work also could sign you off if they know you’re not having a complicated pregnancy etc! Xx

Aww I want to plan a trip so bad but nervous ill be too big and exhausted 🤦‍♀️😭 and have a 2.5 year old so you never really relaxxx 😂🤦‍♀️ 2.5 hr flights a nice quick one so I would not be too worried. I think biggest concern is being sitted longer than 2.5 hrs so 👍👍

I’m 22 weeks and just flew 10 hours.. so tiring and jet lag beyond belief. However, stay hydrated. Take a refillable water bottle with you through security and refill on the other side. Compression socks are your new best friend! A flight cushion too to give you extra comfort. You’ll be fine! A fit to fly note would be a good idea since airlines can ask for one from 28 weeks.

I’m flying long haul at 29 weeks and have bought some compression socks and have asked my midwife for a fit to fly form even though the airline says it’s not required at my weeks pregnant. I was worried they might think I’m further along though and be difficult as it’s my second and I’m huge lol

I asked my gp practice for a fot to fly. The GP apparently will look at my notes and leave in reception when ready. They said it was 35 pounds (or 50 if you want it in 48 hrs)

I’m 25 weeks and just come back from America last week , complete fine ! Just made sure I drank loads of water and moved about and got some compression socks

be careful with what you eat (infections), be sure to get up and walk on the plane every 30 minutes, wear compression socks, drink bottled water only, try stay cool and not overheated. AND HAVE YOUR FINGERS CROSSED that they don’t decide to pop out in a different country 🤣

@Conchi so ask your midwife for a fit to fly and it costs nothing, i had been given one for twins not long ago and didn’t have to pay, i was sent it over email from my midwife within the same everjing

@Summer-Rose good to know but maybe it depends on the area because here midwives don't do it.

@Summer-Rose omg I think having her in a different country or on the plane is my worst fear 😂 knowing my luck!
