Attention seeking or actual pain? šŸ˜“

Does anyone elseā€™s 2 year old always say ouchie ouchie or itā€™s hurting? We recently had to take her to urgent care for a swollen gland but after 2 evaluations they said sheā€™s fine. Ever since she learned what ouchie is She says ā€œhurtingā€ her leg or hand or booty or tummy or head itā€™s always something new. I donā€™t know how to tell if itā€™s attention seeking or if sheā€™s really hurting? šŸ˜”šŸ˜“šŸ˜“ Sheā€™s acting and eating normally otherwise.

Attention seeking. Mine does it. To tell if itā€™s real or not give attention, commensurate, and then try to distract.

Mine does it too. She always says mom look at my boo boo! I feel itā€™s more attention grabbing

My boy has been doing this while I (stressfully attempt) to brush his hair! I donā€™t understand! How is he FINE watching NumberBlocks until Iā€™m JUST about finished?! šŸ¤£šŸ¤¦šŸ»ā€ā™€ļø itā€™s so hard to know tho! They ā€œpreyā€ on knowing we canā€™t stand to think that theyā€™re in pain :/

If I just touch my son, he says "ow that hurts" I hate to invalidate his feelings but I think it is more that he doesn't want to be touched than it actually hurting. I've even like touched his clothes and he says it.

I typically donā€™t usher to my child when she falls or gets hurt unless sheā€™s actually crying. It taught her to understand her body. And not to overreact
