Do I give up?

Hiya, I am looking for some advice. We have been potty training our 26 month old boy for 2 weeks. He is able to go to the potty or toilet when he is naked from the bottom down no problem. However, when we add shorts (no pants yet) he is inconsistent and starts to have accidents. Sometimes he will tell me he needs a wee or guide me to help him. He isn't yet able to push his shorts down independently, we are practising. Should I give up and put him back in nappies as he isn't able to consistently go when he is dressed? Does this mean that he is not yet ready? Or will he get it in time if we keep going? Many thanks x

I'd say keep persevering and practise with pushing loose shorts down. Thumb in elastic and push. Can take a while but he will get there xx

@Amber thanks Amber, I will keep going! He definitely has the concept, I just don't want to put him off. Thank you xx

That's okay! It's so hard for them, I'm lucky my little girl can wear dresses but I still have to help her lift it so it doesn't get wet!
