Similar situation to me but my consultants were pushing for the ECV and I really didn’t want it. Just didn’t want to go through with it really! I had a planned c section at 39+3 and it was so positive. Definitely the best decision for me. It was so chilled and was really good knowing what was going to happen. Baby was born at 6lb 2, very healthy and doing fine!
Not exactly the same but similar. My girly was bum down also and I had an accessory placental lobe, both were infront of her face and I was told there was little chance of her flipping naturally. Doc wouldn't support an ECV - said it was not likely to work and would cause baby undue stress. We scheduled a c section for 39+6 but at our last check (38+6), fluid was low so we got her out same day. Honestly feels like such a blessing that we got to meet her early. I would trust that whoever you're working with will know if it's time to get him out early and it'll all work out. I've heard ECVs are often unsuccessful and uncomfortable for both mama and baby and in the end I wanted to do whatever was most safe and would cause the least amount of stress for both of us. C section was pretty breezy 🤷🏽♀️
Not the same but footling breech 7lb and discovered breech during natural birth. I had an emergency c section and was best decision ever. If I had known baby was breech I would have just opted for c section. I had too many issues with my first birth and I actually preferred my c section
Was in a similar situation with breech and 10th centile at 37w. Was advised I could still try an ECV. But a couple days later I had another complication so just went for a planned c section. The c section wasn’t bad at all but I guess if you can have the chance to try at natural birth (if that’s what you’d like), and your consultant says it’s ok then maybe try an eccentric
ECV*
I couldn’t have an ECV for a different reason (bicornuate shaped uterus, which it’s not recommended for), but had a really positive vaginal breech birth x
I got an ECV at 38+2 and my baby was also small (under 10th percentile). The ECV was successful and he was born naturally at 39weeks weighing 6lb 12oz and completely healthy. I was really worried and stressed about the ECV and yes it was uncomfortable but they only try for 5mins max but it’s definitely worth a try! I went on to have a very quick labour and pretty straightforward birth and recovered so quick. Definitely the right decision for me over a section!
