Hospital question

This isnt baby related but I’m just wondering if anyone might know something, I stay over in Glasgow but my mum was over in England just before she passed she was in hospital for about a week and I went straight over and I was up there visiting as much as I was allowed during visiting times, but everything the doctor had been saying to me just felt completely false and was told she was getting out and would be fine next day call saying she’d passed as I was driving back up to see her ( I was staying in England till she was going to get out of hospital) I just want to know everything they had been giving her why they thought she was there I just want all her files and to look over things, purely just to get passed this I won’t even get started the way she was treated up there cause I’ll be here all day and will just upset myself again but I really need to get passed this and feel like maybe that would help But my question is am I entitled to her file is that something they can give me and how do I go about getting it

So sorry for your loss 💕 I'm sure you can request her medical records, not sure how you go about it though, maybe try contacting the hospital? I requested my maternity notes online through the hospital website. May be worth having a look online xx

You can get in touch with PALS at any UK trust, ask to request her medical records. Not sure how it works with consent however, maybe next of kin? But reach out to the trust. Type in Google requesting medical records. Loads will come up xx

I would raise a complaint of medical negligence with the hospital if you think something has gone wrong and they have mistreated her. Or see if you can find a solicitor that specialises in this, you can usually get an hour free consultation-that might help? I’m very very sorry for your loss ❤️
