obstetric cholestasis

Hiya, Has anyone been diagnosed with obstetric cholestasis? I’ve been having weekly bloods for about a month now, all have been ok but my liver function has been high. Had bloods yesterday and they’ve came back with my liver bile being 19. My consultant said that if they’re raised they’re going to induce me. Has this been the same for anyone else ?

I had it late into my pregnancy. They brought my c-section date forward because of it.

I had it. Got diagnosed about 35 weeks in. I had weekly bloods but I gave birth 2 weeks later at 37+4 so no need for any induction. My itching stopped almost immediately after birth as well

I had it but they thankfully stayed low enough that I didn’t have to be induced then naturally went into labour at 38 weeks, itching went straight away with me also x

I had it and they just monitored it. Had planned c section 39+5. Good luck

I was diagnosed at 35 weeks and my doctor scheduled to induce me at 38 weeks. I only had my blood drawn once and levels were at 15.

I haven't but a good friend had it and her waters went at 33 weeks. Her result was so high that they were going to induce her at 35 weeks anyway

Sorry this is a bit of a late reply.. I was diagnosed at 28 weeks. Original bile acids at 20 and now up to 34. I was told 19 is the threshold for diagnosis. Anything between 14-40 is considered mild, 40-100 moderate, and 100> severe. If bile acids remain low then they will continue to monitor, but baby could go all the way to due date. If they continue to rise but don’t go too high then they might still suggest a bit of an early induction around 38ish weeks. Anything above 100 then they would get baby out sooner, maybe around 35ish weeks.
