Can anyone relate?

It's so exhausting being the default parent. My boyfriend does help but it seems like only when he wants too. I don't ever really get a mommy break. I guess u can say I do bc I get to have a break in the shower but if we are being for real that isn't a break. I'm frustrated/ annoyed at this whole thing I'm ranting about is bc anytime my boyfriend does help he seems like he annoyed or pissed. So that puts me into an anxiety mood and I feel like a shit parent and when I try to do a mommy break it seems like it frustrates my boyfriend so I will just go back inside or step in to help.. All I want is a break. I feel bad for saying that. I hope this all made sense.

Have you tried to communicate to him about how you feel?

@Madison Turner yes and it just starts a fight. I know there is miscommunication idk how to get past that. I'm a stay at home mom and he works. I understand when he comes home he just wants to relax and I let him but what frustrates me is that he promises to give me a break but it seems like it never happens bc he starts to get frustrated with the kids so I step in bc I feel like he is upset that he has to attend to them. . That irks me bc I have been home all day with them. If that makes any sense.

Wow. And I see you have multiple. That is not easy. What about grandparents?

I’ve been there too girl, completely understand the frustration and want to just have a break. It’s tough. I’m sorry that he isn’t stepping up to give you that.

I feel, momma of soon to be four I haven't had a break since my first was born I'm the default I do everything between caring for the kids, house, animals. Cooking ect. My husband works the complete opposite schedule to provide for me & kids so that I can stay home with them it's very taxing I have a 4,3 & 1yr old and soon newborn and our youngest has epilepsy so I'm constantly busy I have no friends or "village" so I have to figure out how to do things on my own

I think coming up with a schedule might help you both for example let’s say he gets home at 6 pm then he is on duty from 7-9 pm. And I don’t mean this lightly u need a minimum of two hours off and away ! Maybe this happen in any possible way you can. If he doesn’t do it get ur car and leave for an hour or two.
