My little boy gets his done with scissors rather than clippers, although his is no where near as thick as you little ones. It might be an option if the noise is triggering for him
We go to my hairdressers and she uses scissors except for behind his ears. Could you look at an alternative place or possibly a place specifically for kids?
Scissors only here too which has worked well with distractions!
Ours is the same. First cut I did myself and he didn't even notice, but today we went to the barber's and he had an out of character meltdown. One thing that calmed him down was simultaneously showing him videos of little kiddies having their hair cut. It worked for a bit then he kicked off again. Finally got through it with 8k coral reef/aquarium videos. He loves fish but we don't do screentime so was a novelty that kept him distracted. He also sat on dad's lap for the cut. After, he watched dad get a cut (really we should have done this first lol), and only then cheered up about it all and kept saying haircut all day after that. Barber mostly used scissors and the trimmer only at the end to finish up.
Scissors only here too much easier!!
Same with the scissors! I’ve done it myself with scissors and it’s been fine, mainly while he’s eating his favourite food 😂
@Jess my partners sister normally does it as she cuts hair. I will tell her to use scissors this time and I hope that goes well 😅
I've been a few times but take him to my lady who uses scissors rather then the clippers. She has tried clippers but he instantly goes a bit nuts (even though dad shaves infront of him all the time) but moves too much for her to use them so she cuts with scissors and I sit him on my lap with his tablet and some snacks and seems to work. Clippers would be a no go for us x
