20 week scan?

I just noticed on my letter for the 20 week scan it mentions blood tests. I can't find anything on the NHS website about any blood tests with this scan. Does anyone know if you do get blood tests or not?

Maybe they are the ones to check trisomy 21,13, and 18? If you didn’t do them before. Or they could also be to check sugar levels?

Hmm, I had the bloods done at the 12 week! I guess I'll have to see!

Expect blood tests at pretty much every appointment. I’m 16weeks and have had 4 bloody tests already. Have you have several already? With my first baby I have a urine and blood test every appointment till birth. And the results can on the online platform that my hospital trust uses.

It could be the downs syndrome blood test ? That's usually on offer around this time. No harm I calling up and asking or even asking before they do the blood test.

Online it says: You'll be offered an ultrasound scan to check the physical development of your baby. This is also known as the 20-week scan. Screening for HIV, syphilis and hepatitis B will be offered again by a specialist midwife if you opted not to have it earlier in pregnancy. These tests are recommended as they greatly reduce the risk of passing infection from you to your baby. So could be those blood tests weren't done earlier and they're going them now!

My GP isn’t allowed to do any bloody test for maternity anymore so my midwife has told me to get my bloods done then for my next appointment with the midwife at 24 weeks
