Grainy breast milk?

I thawed some of my frozen milk from my stash in the fridge and combined it, about 12 oz all together. It looks grainy and has little white specks floating. Is it bad? So confused at how it would have gone bad when it's only been thawed completely now for about 12 hours. I thought 24 was okay as long as it was thawed in the fridge. If it is bad, what can I use this for in the next 12 hours? It breaks my heart to throw 12 oz down the drain... 😭

It's just the fat in the milk. Every time you pump the fat amout my vary and once frozen it becomes more solid like so doesn't look smooth like when first pumped. Totally normal and safe

Thank you so much! Should it still be grainy even after it's warmed? @Ally

@Kait can be! If too worried about this one and times passed then put it in the bath water but othwise its ok to consume

Mine was exactly the same when taking a bottle of breast milk from the fridge, was told it’s just fat, he took it the same and never did him any harm

Mines the same from the fridge, usually looks back to normal once heated

I think we are used to seeing totally white filtered and processed cows milk. But really milk comes with parts to it, colour differences, a creamier top part...... not just a flat all white smooth liquid all the time. Mine lots of times looked a bit like that and was always fine 🙂
