Lifting weights/ working out while pregnant

Any moms who are pregnant and still stay active? Anyone lift weights within moderation or do Pilates? I haven’t been the most consistent but still do some weekly. Anyone else find it challenging to stay motivated even though I know it’s best for health and natural birth?

I did, I was doing weights and cardio until about 35 weeks. I had a PT otherwise I would never have kept it up. I was fitter at that age, that anytime before or after 🤣

I lifted weights until 28 weeks. Then I wanted to just rest in my last trimester

The recommendation is to maintain your pre pregnant activity. And yes, it does make your delivery much easier!

I worked with a trainer while pregnant and did weights.

I continued doing cardio until about a month before I was due with my first. COVID messed up my workout routine with my second. Moving had ruined it this time and I've just gotten to where I can exercise regularly again when I got positive home tests last weekend. I've still generally been active and doing physical work though, so I plan to exercise moderately and probably do some light weights as long as the doc plays it.

I was doing regular workouts till week 10. Then modified lifting and light cardio until 18 weeks. I had some bleeding and I chose to stop for a couple of weeks. I continued with yoga, walking and water aerobics until the end of my pregnancy. I found it really hard to get around the last two weeks (my baby was 90th or off the charts at the time- he is still 90th percentile lol).

@Audrey same! Was so happy with my workout routine and finally got in a schedule until Covid messed it all up.

So I’m naturally active but have definitely chilled out and at 21 weeks do yoga/Pilates twice a week with twice lifting dumbbells and body weight exercises. Walking everyday. I feel great so far and find that making sure eating enough of the right foods is more of a challenge. Our grocery bill is astronomical 😫 but food is life!
