Vagirux/vaginal oestrogen
Hi everyone. I’ve been prescribed Vagirux by my GP. I came off the combined pill a few days ago in order to start taking it. Does anyone know how long you have to be off the pill before starting Vagirux. I completely forgot to ask this!
Hello 🙂 The oestrogen dose is tiny in Vagirux, and it's absorbed locally in your vagina, so there isn't normally any need to adjust/stop other oestrogen, whether that's BCP or HRT. A bit odd if you've been told that it's BCP *or* Vagirux tbh. Vagirux is used for Genitourinary Syndrome of the Menopause symptoms. Vagirux is not a systemic HRT, and won't help with any other menopause symptoms, nor provide contraception. You do need to speak to a properly qualified medical professional to check, but this would be the usual guidance as far as I'm aware. Hope that helps.🩷
